Frequently Asked Questions

When installing or upgrading bus stops across the Local Government Area, Council ensures they are compliant with the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (DSAPT) under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA).

Council has assessed the suitability of upgrading the existing bus stop, however DSAPT and DDA compliance is not possible at this location. This is due to insufficient width of the footpath to allow wheelchair access when a shelter is installed at the existing location.

There are Sydney Bus Network and School Bus routes from the Taylor Ave at Cobham Ave stop.

The routes from this stop include:

  • 524 Parramatta to West Ryde via Melrose Park & Ryde
  • 618W Cumberland High School to Victoria & Pittwater Rds
  • 625W Eastwood Station to St. Michaels, Meadowbank
  • 802W Dundas to Marsden HS via Ermington and Melrose Park

There are no route changes resulting from the relocation of the bus stop. If the proposal is implemented, the bus stops would use the new bus stop instead of the existing bus stop.

No. Council is not proposing to relocate the bus stop on the southern side of Taylor Ave, Melrose Park.

Council is proposing to relocate the bus stop on the northern side of Taylor Avenue because its bus shelter was removed as part of footpath upgrade work. The relocation of the bus stop is required in order for a shelter to be installed that meets the legislative requirements of DSAPT and DDA standards.
