In early 2024, Council sought community feedback for the proposed trial of additional unfenced dog off-leash areas. At its meeting on Tuesday 22 July 2025, it was resolved that three of the proposed sites will be trialled for a 12-month period.

The trial will run from Monday 27 October 2025 – Sunday 1 November 2026 at the following sites:

  • Granny Smith Memorial Park, Eastwood
  • Pioneer Park, Marsfield (when not used for organised sporting activities booked by Council)
  • Lardelli Park, Ryde (Lower Area)

There will be signage, dog waste bins and bag dispensers available at these sites during the 12-month trial.

Council would like to hear your thoughts on the new dog off-leash areas - what you think of the space, and whether you support it continuing as a designated dog off-leash area.
