City of Ryde is considering a new Draft Planning Agreement Policy and Draft Planning Agreement Guideline to guide the preparation of planning agreements undertaken by Council. The draft policy establishes a clear framework for how Council will assess, negotiate, prepare and implement planning agreements ensuring that it is in line with current legislation and best practice.
The Draft Planning Agreements Policy aims to:
- Establish a fair, transparent and accountable framework governing the use of planning agreements and works in kind agreements by Council.
- Give stakeholders in development greater involvement in the type, standard and location of public facilities and other public benefits.
- Adopt innovative and flexible approaches to the provision of infrastructure and other public benefits in a manner that is consistent with Council’s strategic and infrastructure plans.
The Draft Planning Agreement Guideline supports the Draft Policy and provides the necessary information to all stakeholders on Council’s planning agreement processes.
Council invites our community to share their feedback on the Draft Policy and Guideline.
Hard copies of the exhibited documents are available for viewing at City of Ryde Libraries.
