City of Ryde is considering a new Draft Procurement Policy to guide all procurement activities undertaken by Council. The proposed policy establishes a clear framework for how Council procures goods, services, facilities, and works — ensuring that our procurement practices are ethical, effective, and aligned with community expectations.

The Draft Procurement Policy 2025 aims to embed transparency, accountability and due diligence in every procurement decision. It will apply to all Council employees, contractors and consultants engaged in procurement on behalf of Council and set out clear principles to guide procurement practice. These principles include:

  • Meeting operational needs while achieving the highest commercial and sustainable outcomes.
  • Using Council resources ethically, efficiently, and responsibly.
  • Ensuring fair, open and transparent competition, and compliance with relevant legislation and Council’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics.

Council invites our community to share their feedback on the draft Policy.

Hard copies of the exhibited documents are available for viewing at City of Ryde Libraries.

Visit the Libraries webpage for location and operating times.
