Council is exploring proposed locations for electric vehicle (EV) kerbside chargers across the City of Ryde to support the growing number of EV drivers. These chargers are designed to make everyday charging more accessible, especially in medium-density residential areas where off-street parking is limited.

The chargers will be installed and operated by ChargePost and EVX, who have secured funding through the NSW Government’s EV Kerbside Charging Grants – Round 2. This means the rollout will occur at no cost to Council.

Proposed Locations

Council is seeking feedback on the proposed installation of EV chargers at up to 26 locations across the City of Ryde. Each charger is dual-port, meaning it would provide a total of up to 52 charging points, and will be mounted on existing power poles.

Two adjacent parking spaces per charger will be signposted as ‘Electric Vehicles Only While Charging’. Only electric vehicles actively charging will be permitted to park at these locations, with a maximum limit of 4 hours during the stipulated daytime charging period, and overnight charging available after hours.

You can view the 26 proposed locations on the interactive map below and provide your feedback.
